Sakhee Honored With Hermes Award

Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe (Fr-I) winner Sakhee was voted the Hermes Award as Horse of the Tear in flat racing by readers of the Paris-Turf.

A runner-up in the Breeders' Cup Classic (gr. I) in his dirt-racing debut, Sakhee beat out challengers Galileo, Aquarelliste, Banks Hill, and Johannesburg, as well as stablemate Fantastic Light.

Diana Cooper, Godolphin's French representative, accepted the award -- a sculpture from Christian Renonciat's "Les Chevaux Hermes" collection -- on Thursday in Paris.

Sakhee will remain in training next season, with his debut scheduled for the Dubai World Cup (UAE-I) on March 23.
