Sequoyah's First Winner Scores in Louisiana

Sequoyah Wells became the first winner sired by Sequoyah when he won at 5 1/2 furlongs at Louisiana Downs July 7. The 2-year-old gelding triumphed by 2 1/4 lengths in 1:06.43 for Northpointe Thoroughbreds (VIDEO).

Bred in Louisiana by Heartlines Horse Ranch LP, Sequoyah Wells is the first foal out of the Fasliyev mare Fall Flower, whose second dam is grade I winner No Review.

By A.P. Indy out of champion Chilukki (by Cherokee Run), Sequoyah stands at Main Street Thoroughbreds near Lake Charles, La. His 2012 fee was $1,000.
