Godolphin's Muhtathir upsets Sendawar and Crimplene in the Jacques le Marois (2000) at 21-1.
Godolphin Racing's Muhtathir won the Prix du Haras de Fresnay-Le-Buffard-Jacques Le Marois (Fr-I) by three lengths over Sendawar Sunday at Deauville. Kingsalsa finished third of 11 runners, followed by fourth-place Crimplene.

After tracking pacesetter Crimplene while close up through the early going, Muhtatir was sent to the lead with just over a quarter-mile to run before holding Sendawar at bay. Muhtathir (Elmaamul--Majmu, by Al Nasr) is trained by Saeed bin Suroor and was ridden to victory by Frankie Dettori. The 5-year-old completed the straight mile course in 1:34 3/5 over good to firm ground.

Muhtathir finished sixth in the Queen Anne Stakes (Eng-II) at Ascot in June after winning the Premio Emilio Turati (Ity-II) in May. In his only other start of the year, Muhtathir finished third in the Godolphin Mile in March. The victory was his eighth win from 21 starts. He was bred in Great Britain by Shadwell Estate Company Ltd.
