Epsom Derby Winner Kris Kin to Libya

Kris Kin, winner of the 2003 Vodafone Epsom Derby (Eng-I), has been sold to stand at Al Shaab Stud near Tripoli, Libya, according to the Racing Post. The 12-year-old stallion (Kris S.Angel in My Heart, by Rainbow Quest) stood in 2012 at Azienda Agricola I Mandorli in Italy.

Kris Kin won the Epsom Derby after capturing the Philip Leverhulme Dee Stakes (Eng-III). About six weeks after the Derby, he ran third in the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Diamond Stakes (Eng-I).

Kris Kin, who was group II stakes-placed at 3 in France, was retired with a record of 3-0-2 from seven starts and earnings of $1,641,792.

Kris Kin has sired two stakes winners and three stakes-placed runners.
