Due to the severe storm the day before and a current power outage, Colonial Downs has canceled its live race card for Sunday, July 1. Saturday’s card was discontinued after the fourth race when strong winds, rain, and lightning hit the New Kent area for the third time in six days.
The track is dark on Monday and Tuesday. Colonial Downs resumes its summer racing season on Wednesday, July 4, with its traditional horse and fireworks card at 5 p.m.
