Thoroughbred Charities of America announced June 27 that Shannon Arvin, Braxton Lynch, and Peter Willmott have been named to three-year terms on its board of directors.
“We are very happy to welcome Peter Willmott, Braxton Lynch, and Shannon Arvin to Thoroughbred Charities of America,” TCA president Dan Rosenberg said in a statement. “New perspectives and ideas keep organizations vibrant, and I look forward to working with each of them.”
Arvin is an attorney with Stoll Keenon Ogden in Lexington focusing on business services, particularly the equine industry, trusts, and estates. Lynch is the former director of sales at Three Chimneys Farm who now owns and operates Royal Oak Farm in Paris, Ky., with her husband, Damian. Willmott, the former president and COO of Federal Express Corporation, has been directly involved in the Thoroughbred business for more than 15 years and manages his Willmott Stables, Inc. Willmott is also chairman of the Thoroughbred Owners and Breeders Association.
TCA has distributed more than $18 million to approximately 200 equine charities since it began its TCA Stallion Season Auction fundraiser 22 years ago. The charitable arm of TOBA, the TCA distributes funds to charities in the Thoroughbred industry that provide a better life for Thoroughbreds during and after their racing careers by supporting retirement, rescue, research, and by helping the people who work with them.
