Kerosene, who continued to stand as the property of Ted Taylor at Spendthrift Farm near Lexington even after Taylor sold the farm to Bruce Kline and partners, was euthanized Nov. 23 at age 15 after a debilitating disease. Preliminary post mortem results revealed a kidney mass that caused an encephalitis and subsequent paralysis. Final results are pending.

Kerosene (Devil's Bag--Issues n' Answers, by Jacinto) won two of four starts and ran second behind Awe Inspiring in the 1989 Everglades Stakes (gr. III). He sired five stakes winners during his stallion career.
