Fasig-Tipton has cataloged 338 yearlings for the 2012 July Sale of selected yearlings at its Newtown Paddocks headquarters in Lexington, Ky., an increase of nearly 12% over last year's catalog.
The sale is July 10.
“Despite a smaller foal crop in 2011, we have been able to grow our yearling numbers meaningfully for this year,” said Fasig-Tipton President Boyd Browning.
“In addition to more positive signs for the economy in general and for the Thoroughbred industry specifically, current graduates of The July Sale have been performing particularly well at the racetrack and in selected two-year-olds in training sales as pinhooks,” Browning noted.
“A recent independent industry study shows this as the number one sale for percentage of race-winning graduates and it is second by percentage only to our Saratoga sale as the leading source for grade I winners and stakes-winners.”
The front cover of this year catalog features seven grade I winners from 2011 and 2012. They are part of a group of 23 graded/group stakes winners to date from these two years. Catalogs will be available from all Fasig-Tipton offices by June 11 and are now on-line at the company’s website.
