Our Emblem and Disco Rico will stand the 2002 breeding season at E. Allen and Audrey Murray Jr.'s Murmur Farm near Darlington, Md. Ten-year-old Our Emblem, who has arrived at the farm, formerly stood at the Hancock family's Claiborne Farm near Paris, Ky. He will stand for a syndicate managed by the Murrays. Disco Rico, who will enter stud, will arrive next week. The fee for each is $4,000 live foal.
A son of Mr. Prospector out of unbeaten champion Personal Ensign, Our Emblem was grade I stakes-placed and is the sire of stakes winner Uncle Punk. He is a full brother to grade I winners Miner's Mark and Traditionally and a half-brother to grade I winner My Flag.
Four-year-old Disco Rico (Citidancer--Round It Off, by Apalachee) won nine of 17 races and earned $532,244 for Alfred DiRico. His seven added-money wins included additional scores in the Maryland Breeders' Cup Handicap (gr. III) and Jersey Shore Breeders' Cup Stakes (gr. III). He also placed in five stakes, including the General George Handicap (gr. II). He is owned by DiRico and his son, Joseph.
