Full Fields for Matriarch, Hollywood Derby

From Hollywood Park
Trainer Neil Drysdale gave thumbs up for Crystal Music to be entered in the $500,000 Matriarch Stakes after the 3-year-old filly worked four furlongs on the Hollywood Park turf course in :48.40 under Alex Solis Thursday.

"She gets the green light," said Drysdale. "She worked well."

Crystal Music joined the Drysdale stable after finishing unplaced in the Breeders' Cup World Thoroughbred Championships Filly & Mare Turf Oct. 27 at Belmont for trainer John Gosden.

The European import won the group I Fillies Mile at Ascot in 2000 and finished second in two Group I races - the Irish 1000 Guineas and the Coronation Stakes at Ascot - this year.

Drysdale will send out both Crystal Music and Freefourracing in the Matriarch.

Fifteen females were entered for 14 spots, with competition so keen that defending champion Tout Charmant was first on the also-eligible list. Deadline for scratches is 10 a.m. on Saturday.
