It was a warm, humid day at Churchill Downs on Monday, April 30, and the track was fast as a handful of contenders for the Kentucky Derby Presented by Yum! Brands went through their final workouts in preparation for the May 5 race.

At a glance, the workers were:
--Creative Cause  , 4 furlongs in :47 4/5, with splits of :12 3/5, :24 3/5, :36. Galloped out 5 furlongs in 1:01 1/5.
--Daddy Nose Best, 4 furlongs in  :49 2/5, with splits of :13 1/5, :25 3/5, :37 2/5. Galloped out 5 furlongs in 1:02 2/5 and six furlongs in 1:16 3/5.
--Liaison  , 5 furlongs, 1:00 4/5, splits of :24 4/5, :37 1/5, :48 4/5. Galloped out 6 furlongs in 1:13 1/5 and 7 furlongs in 1:26 3/5.
--Mark Valeski, 5 furlongs in 1:00 1/5, with fractional splits of :11 3/5, :23 2/5, :35 1/5, :47 3/5. Galloped out 6 furlongs in 1:14 3/5.
--Sabercat, 4 furlongs in :48 2/5, splits of :12 3/5, :24 2/5, and :36. Galloped out 5 furlongs in 1:01 1/5 and 6 furlongs in 1:15 3/5.
