Dr. Kendall Hansen, majority owner of 2011 2-year-old champion male Hansen, has agreed to donate 1% of the colt’s earnings from the May 5 Kentucky Derby Presented by Yum! Brands (gr. I) to the Thoroughbred Racing Fan Association, according to ThoroFan chairman Michael Amo.

"Dr. Hansen’s offer and willingness to help build the racing fan base—a major goal of ThoroFan—is just the thing that is needed," Amo said in a release. "This is an incredibly generous offer, and members of ThoroFan will be out in full force cheering our newest member, Hansen."
Hansen has previously pledged funds to New Vocations, an organization that works to find new professions for retired racehorses.
ThoroFan is a national, non-profit established in 2008 to retain and enrich existing fans, seek out and attract new fans, and give fans a voice in the industry.
