Three Work Quarters in :20 3/5 for OBS Sale

Three horses were the quickest workers at a quarter mile April 19 during the third session of the under tack show for the Ocala Breeders’ Sales Co. spring sale of 2-year-olds in training in Central Florida.

Covering the distance in :20 3/5 over the OBS track’s synthetic Safetrack surface were a Safe in the U S A – Just Call Me Berty filly, a Horse Greeley   – Mattie Camp colt named Really Mr Greely, and a Freud   – Maya’s Note filly.

Blue River Bloodstock, agent, is the consignor of the Safe in the U S A filly, cataloged as Hip No. 602. Thoroughbred Friends and Associates, agent, is the consignor of Really Mr Greely, cataloged as Hip No. 711; and Everett Livestock is the consignor of the Freud filly.

Sixteen horses each turned in the fastest time of :10 for an eighth of a mile. They included an Orientate   – Kuanyan filly named Quick Chick (Hip No. 623), consigned by Texhoma, agent; a Songandaprayer   – Launch the Rocket colt (Hip No. 641), consigned by Wavertree Stables, agent; and a Simon Pure– Legally Insane filly (Hip. No. 643), and a The Green Monkey – Pretty Ready filly (Hip No. 878), both consigned by Hartley/De Renzo Thoroughbreds, agent

Among the other juveniles in the group were a Street Sense   – Leona’s Knight filly (Hip No. 648) and a City Zip   – Love Boot colt (Hip No. 673), both consigned by Eddie Woods, agent; a Greeley's Galaxy – Maggie’s Pearle filly (Hip No. 685), consigned by de Meric Sales, agent; and a Wildcat Heir  – Marbleous Routine filly (Hip No. 698), consigned by Bo Hunt, agent.

Additional juveniles setting the pace included a Freud   – Mighty Good colt (Hip No. 724), consigned by Sequel Bloodstock, agent; an Orientate   – Mir Cat colt (Hip No. 731), consigned by Woods, agent; a Henny Hughes   – Miss Smart Strike gelding (Hip No. 746), consigned by Sescan, agent; and a Whywhywhy – Monaree filly named Whymonawhy (Hip No. 756), consigned by M & H Training and Sales, agent.

The rest of the fastest workers at an eighth were a Wildcat Heir   – Nasty Sabina filly (Hip No. 782) and a Forestry   – Penilee colt (Hip No. 840), both consigned by de Meric Sales, agent;  a Bernstein – Phantom Income filly (Hip No. 850),  consigned by Best A Luck Farm, agent; and a Lawyer Ron – Pondering filly (Hip No. 863), consigned by Woods, agent.

A Smooth Jazz – Little Bertie colt named Smooth Bert was the fastest worker at three furlongs with a time of :34. Consigned by SGV Thoroughbreds, agent, he is cataloged as Hip No. 662.

The fourth and final session of the under tack show is scheduled for April 20, beginning at 8 a.m. (EDT). The spring auction is scheduled for April 23-26, with each session starting at 10:30 a.m. (EDT).
