Hollywood Park Meet Off to Good Start

With two weeks of its 31-day autumn meet complete, Hollywood Park reports significant increases in attendance and wagering.
Average daily on-track handle of $1,589,326 is up 5.9% through nine racing days, while on-track attendance has increased 8.5% from a year ago. With the exception of the first Sunday card when numbers were adversely affect by rain, handle has been up every day of the meet.
Overall, the combined daily average handle of $8,419,555 is up 9.3% from 2000 and the combined (on-track and satellite locations) attendance average of 16,615 is up 4%.
With a Pick Six carryover of more than $130,000 Sunday, on-track attendance totaled 9,449 and total attendance was 22,032. Handle totaled $11,80,577 and there were 27 winning Pick Six tickets worth $18,827.40 each.
