Champion Gio Ponti to Shuttle to Arrowfield

Three-time Eclipse Award winner Gio Ponti   will shuttle from Castleton Lyons near Lexington to Arrowfield Stud in New South Wales, Australia in 2012. The 7-year-old son of Tale of the Cat   out of the Alydar mare Chipeta Springs entered stud this year. His U.S. fee is $20,000.

“Gio Ponti's superlative record will stamp him as one of the all-time great American turf horses,” said Arrowfield chairman John Messara. “His athleticism, good looks, and Tale of the Cat’s proven compatibility with Australasian bloodlines make him a very exciting addition to our roster.”

Gio Ponti was 2009 champion older male and turf male, as well as champion turf male in 2010.
