The Thoroughbred Owners and Breeders Association announced April 11 that it will conduct a Thoroughbred Ownership Seminar on May 3, at the Kentucky Derby Museum in Louisville.
The seminar, sponsored by Blood-Horse Publications, will feature discussions on industry business issues, options for acquiring horses including partnerships, auctions and claiming, as well as a discussion about veterinary topics. Speakers include Thoroughbred trainer Dale Romans, Jim Culver of Dream Team Racing Stable, Chad Schumer, and Jamie Hill.
The seminar will begin at 8 a.m. and will include breakfast, lunch sponsored by Coolmore America, and an afternoon of racing at Churchill Downs.
The registration fee for the seminar is $75 for TOBA members and $100 for non-members and includes all support materials, admission to the track, and meals. A representative of the National Racing Compact will also be available to assist owners with the licensing process. TOBA members will receive a discounted application fee.
TOBA’s next educational event is a Breeding Clinic in Lexington June 1 - 3. For a complete list of TOBA seminars and clinics visit www.toba.org or for more information, contact Amy Bunt at 859-276-2291 or abunt@toba.org.
