A Lemon Drop Kid   filly that sold for $400,000 was the top-priced offering at the early portion of the Keeneland April sale of 2-year-olds in training in Lexington April 9.

Consigned as Hip No. 44 by de Meric Sales, agent, the Florida-bred filly was purchased by Martin Schwartz, with trainer Chad Brown signing the sales ticket.

Produced from the multiple grade II winning Bertrando mare Queenie Belle, the filly, already named Beyond Belle, is a half sister to Breeders’ Cup Ladies’ Classic (gr. I) winner Unrivaled Belle.

Bred by Gary Seider and Peter Vegso, the filly was consigned by Taylor Made Sales Agency to the 2011 Fasig-Tipton Saratoga August yearling sale, where she was purchased by Tory Chapman, agent, for $210,000.
