Trainer Dallas Stewart confirmed that Breeders' Cup Distaff (gr. I) winner Unbridled Elaine is bound for the Falls City Handicap (gr. III) after a strong Thursday morning workout at Churchill Downs.
Roger Devenport's daughter of Unbridled's Song breezed five furlongs in 1:01 1/5 over a "fast" track under exercise rider Joanne McNamara.
The Falls City will be a rematch of the Distaff contest with 2000 Distaff champion and 2001 runner-up Spain also scheduled to start in the Thanksgiving Day stakes.
Along with Spain, Unbridled Elaine will face a third Breeders' Cup champion in 2000 Juvenile Fillies (gr. I) winner Caressing in the Falls City. Others considered likely for the race include Overbrook Farm Spinster (gr. I) winner Miss Linda, Acorn (gr. I) winner Forest Secrets, and major stakes winners Printemps and De Bertie.
Pat Day will ride Unbridled Elaine in the Falls City.
