A daughter of Closing Argument was among the standouts during the under tack show for the Fasig-Tipton Texas sale of 2-year-olds in training. The filly turned in the fastest work at a quarter mile, covering the distance in :21 3/5 at Lone Star Park April 2.
Consigned by Robert Brewer, agent, the bay juvenile is Hip No. 40 in the Fasig-Tipton Texas auction’s catalog. She is a half sister to four winners, including Belton (by Swamp), who finished second in the 2008 TTA Sales Futurity Stakes at Lone Star, and Joangel (by Abajo), who was second in the Louisiana Champions Day Lassie Stakes at Fair Grounds (now Fair Grounds Race Course & Slots) and third in the Laurel Lane Stakes at Louisiana Downs in 2006. Their winning dam, Prospective Angel (by Northern Prospect), finished third in the 2000 Cinderalla Stakes at Hollywood Park.
A City Place – Fast Brook colt, an Into Mischief – Patricias Prospect filly named Moncoumba, and a Latent Heat – By the Belle colt, were the quickest at an eighth of a mile, each posting a time of :10 1/5.
Brewer, as agent, is the consignor of the City Place colt (Hip No. 122) and the Latent Heat colt (Hip No. 114). River Oaks Farms, agent, is the consignor of Moncoumba (Hip No. 35).
The Fasig-Tipton Texas sale is scheduled for April 5 at Lone Star. It will begin at 11 a.m. (CDT).
