Cetewayo, back to defend this victory in last year's Red Smith.
From NYRADr. John Chandler's Cetewayo and Rose B. Cerullo's Williams News are expected starting highweights Saturday for the $150,000 Red Smith Handicap (gr. IIT) for 3-year-olds and up. The 11- furlong race is the final graded turf stakes in New York this year.

Cetewayo, a 7-year-old son of His Majesty, won the Red Smith last year, defeating Understood by a neck in 2:17 4/5 over good going. He has had three starts since, with his best finish for trainer Michael Dickinson a third-place showing in Belmont Park's grade I Turf Classic on September 29th.
Williams News, a 6-year-old Alleged gelding, has also fallen on hard times for trainer Tom Amoss. Winner of Keeneland's grade III Elkhorn, he is 0-for-4 since, with a fourth to With Anticipation in Saratoga's grade I Sword Dancer his best showing in that span.
Others expected are Berchtesgaden (109); Certantee (113); Eltawaasul (114); Esperence (112); Gritty Sandie (116); Just Listen (113); Lodge Hill (114); Man From Wicklow (113); Mr. Pleasantfar (115); and Serazzo (113). Listed as questionable is I'm All Yours (114).
