Coolmore stallions Desert King and Entrepreneur, both of whom are European champions, will stand in Japan in 2002 on a one-year lease arrangement. A champion in Ireland, Desert King (Danehill--Sabaah, by Nureyev) will stand at East Stud for ¥2 million (approximately $16,000). Entrepreneur (Sadler's Wells--Exclusive Order, by Exclusive Native) was a champion in England. Both are 7-year-olds, and their first foals are running as 2-year-olds.
Coolmore in the past has stood such stallions as Danehill, Spinning World, and Thunder Gulch on lease arrangements in Japan.
