Owners Jerry and Ann Moss have announced that 2010 Horse of the Year Zenyatta will be bred this year to Gainesway Farm stallion Tapit  .

The champion Street Cry mare, who is boarded at William S. Farish’s Lane’s End Farm near Versailles, Ky., was represented by her first foal when she produced a Bernardini   colt March 8.

Bernardini is a son of Lane’s End’s two-time leading sire A.P. Indy. Tapit, the second-leading sire of 2012, is a son of the A.P. Indy stallion Pulpit and is out of the stakes-winning mare Tap Your Heels.

Tapit, the Wood Memorial Stakes (gr. I) winner who stands for $125,000 at the Beck family’s Gainesway Farm near Lexington, has been represented by seven grade I winners, including 2011 champion 2-year-old male Hansen.
