Close Up Relocated to Ohio

Close Up, sire of millionaire Joey P., has been relocated to Raimonde Farm, in Wooster, Ohio. The 16-year-old son of Capote is standing as the property of a syndicate for a $1,500 fee in 2012. He previously stood at C&R Horse Farm near Milmay, N.J.

Produced from the Fappiano mare Video Piano, Close Up is a half brother to Japanese stakes winner Eishin Tsurugizan.

His most successful son Joey P.  won 18 of 48 starts and earned $1,081,167. Included among the gelding’s 12 stakes victories was the 2005 Jersey Shore Breeders’ Cup Stakes (gr. III). He also finished second in eight stakes and set a track record at Monmouth Park for 5 ½ furlongs of 1:01.91.
