Thorn Song's First Foal Delivered at Harris

Dual grade I winner Thorn Song was represented by his first foal at John Harris’ farm near Coalinga, Calif., on March 5. 

His gray colt out of the Flying Continental mare Lots of Sunshine arrived at 5:25 a.m. and weighed in at a healthy 133 pounds.  Owned by Harris Farms, Lots of Sunshine is a half-sister to four stakes horses, including graded stakes performers Zippersup ($335,500, gr. II) and Red Sun ($146,900, gr. II).

Thorn Song won both the Shoemaker Mile (gr. IT) and Keeneland’s Shadwell Turf Mile (gr. IT) during a career in which he earned $1,132,700,
