Kaleem Shah’s Fed Biz, impressive winner of his last two starts, has been taken off the Derby trail, as he battles an undiagnosed hind end issue.

“We just know it’s the hind end,” Shah said. “Not one of the vets can accurately tell us what the problem is. We are going to give him some time off, which usually resolves all issues. We do know there is no fracture, tear, or anything that shows up in nuclear scans. He is off just a bit and (trainer) Bob (Baffert) did not want to take a chance. It’s a tough break.”

The son of Giant's Causeway  –Spunoutacontrol, by Wild Again was purchased by Shah for $950,000 at the Keeneland September yearling sale.

He broke his maiden by 1 3/4 lengths in his second career start and then captured an allowance/optional claimer by 5 3/4 lengths. He was scheduled to run in the March 3 San Felipe Stakes (gr. II) but was withdrawn several days before the race when it was believed he had tied-up.
