Val Royal, Tranquility Lake Work For Trainer Canani

Breeders' Cup Mile winner Val Royal worked three furlongs in :36 at Hollywood Park on Thursday in preparation for a possible berth in the Citation Handicap (gr. IIT) on Nov. 24. Trainer Julio Canani also worked Tranquility Lake three furlongs in :36.60 for her possible start in the Matriarch (gr. IT) the same day. A millionaire, Tranquility Lake finished a head behind winner Tout Charmant in last year's Matriarch.

Meanwhile, trainer David Hofmans said that Siphonic, third-place finisher in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile, is on target for a return in the $200,000 Hollywood Futurity on Dec. 15.

In a turf workout, Neil Drysdale-trained Mister Approval drilled six furlongs in 1:15.80 in preparation for the Nov. 25 Hollywood Derby (gr. IT).
