Stakes winner Now I Know, who was retired in mid-February after fracturing her left front knee, has been purchased privately by Bonnie Baskin to become a broodmare. Baskin owns Blue Heaven Farm near Lexington.
According to Baskin’s son, Adam Corndorf, Now I Know is booked to champion Uncle Mo . Corndorf credited Alan Porter of Pedigree Consultants in the decision making.
“Both Uncle Mo and Now I Know were precocious as each was a graded winner at 2,” Corndorf said.
Now I Know (Pure Prize —Now U Know, by Maria's Mon) raced as a homebred for trainer Don Von Hemel and Wayne O. Stockseth. She won six of seven races including the 2011 Delta Downs Princess Stakes (gr. III) and two other stakes. She was retired with earnings of $461,721.
Now I Know, who underwent surgery after her accident, is doing well.
