Thiskyhasnolimit, who suffered a fracture to his right front cannon bone during the Feb. 25 Mineshaft Handicap (gr. III) at Fair Grounds, underwent successful surgery Feb. 26 and has a good prognosis for recovery.

According to the Three Chimneys Farm Facebook page, co-owner Bob Zollars said the son of Sky Mesa   came out of the surgery at Louisiana State University in good order, was bearing weight on all four legs, moving well and had a good appetite. “As long as he continues to be a good patient, his prognosis is good,” Three Chimneys reported.

Trained by Steve Asmussen for Cathy and Bob Zollars and Mark Wagner, Thiskyhasnolimit has earned $777,828 and went into the Mineshaft as the 5-2 favorite off a victory in the Louisiana Handicap in January. With jockey Shane Sellers aboard, Thiskyhasnolimit broke down approaching the half-mile pole in the Mineshaft  , which was won by Nates Mineshaft, a son of the stallion for whom the stakes race is named.
