Fantastic Light will miss his anticipated start in the Japan Cup (Jap-I) and will be retired to Sheikh Mohammed's Dalham Stud, Godolphin announced Wednesday. Fantastic Light will stand for a fee of £30,000, according to a Sporting Life report.

A 5-year-old son of Rahy, Fantastic Light won 12 of 25 career starts and retires with career earnings of $7,486,957. He earned six grade or group I victories, including the Breeders' Cup Turf and Man o'War Stakes in the United States, as well as a thrilling win over Galileo in this year's Irish Champion Stakes.

Bred in Kentucky by Gainsborough Farm, Fantastic Light is out of the Nijinsky II mare Jood.
