European champion Minardi, whose close relative Johannesburg won the Breeders' Cup Juvenile (gr. I), will enter stud at John T.L. Jones Jr.'s Walmac International near Lexington. The 3-year-old son of Boundary will stand for a partnership for $12,500 live foal.

"Walmac is pleased to have a representative of this successful family added to our stallion roster," Jones said.

Bred in Kentucky by Indian Creek and a $1.65 million Keeneland September yearling, Minardi won the 2000 Middle Park Stakes (Eng-I) and Independent Heinz 57 Phoenix Stakes (Ire-I) and was champion 2-year-old male in both England and Ireland. The following year, he ran third in the Entenmanns Irish Two Thousand Guineas (Ire-I). He was retired with two wins from eight starts and earnings of $291,017 for owners Michael Tabor and Sue Magnier.

Minardi is a half-brother to grade II winner Tale of the Cat, additional stakes winner Spunoutacontrol, and Johannesburg's dam, Myth (by Ogygian).
