Trainer Jonathan Sheppard said Saturday morning that Augustin Stable’s Kentucky Jockey Club (gr. II) runner-up Ever So Lucky would be scratched from the $150,000 Hutcheson Stakes (gr. II).

Sheppard said he would look at several options for 3-year-old So Lucky, including the March 10 Swale Stakes (gr. II). He was expected to be the favorite for the Hutcheson.

“He needed to have some good strong gallops during the week because we gave him a little bit of a conservative work (Feb. 6),” Sheppard said. “The track wasn’t that great that day, and it’s been (sloppy) since. I discussed it at some length with (George) Strawbridge Friday."
