Graded stakes winner El Caballo will enter stud in 2012 at Roger and Julie Pelster’s Roger’s Ranch near Mead, Neb. The 8-year-old son of El Corredor will stand for a private fee.
A $225,000 Keeneland September yearling, El Caballo won the 2010 Colonel E.R. Bradley Handicap (gr. IIIT) and was beaten a nose in the 2009 Mervin Muniz Jr. Memorial Handicap (gr. IIT), both at Fair Grounds. He was retired with a record of 7-5-0 from 20 starts and earnings of $408,598.
El Caballo is out of the Storm Cat mare Fine Jewel, whose dam is champion and Breeders’ Cup Distaff (gr. I) winner Jewel Princess.
