Graded stakes winner Disco Rico has been retired from racing after fracturing his left front leg during his victory in the Oct. 27 Lite the Fuse Stakes at Laurel. The 4-year-old colt underwent surgery at the New Bolton Center in which screws were inserted. He was returned Nov. 5 to trainer Valora Testerman's barn at Pimlico and is scheduled to undergo 60 days of stall rest.

Campaigned through his career by Alfred DiRico, Disco Rico (Citidancer--Round It Off, by Apalachee) won nine of 17 races and earned $532,244. His seven added-money wins included additional scores in the Maryland Breeders' Cup Handicap (gr. III) and Jersey Shore Breeders' Cup Stakes (gr. III). He also placed in five stakes, including the General George Handicap (gr. II). Stud plans for Disco Rico are incomplete.
