The first reported foal by Canadian champion Marchfield was born at Windhaven Farm in Caledon, Ontario. The chestnut filly out of Casey's Irish Pride was born Jan. 25.

A two-champion older horse in Canada by A.P. Indy out of Canadian Broodmare of the Year Pico Tenerife, Marchfield stands at Michael and Laurel Byrne's Park Stud near Orangeville, Ontario for $4,000 CDN.

Marchfield, a homebred who raced for Eugene Melnyk, won the final jewel of the Canadian 3-year-old Triple Crown, the Breeders' Stakes on turf. He finished first or second in 15 or 23 races while earning $1,040,161. His career included victories in the Autumn Stakes (Can-IIT), the Sky Classic Stakes (Can-IIT), and the Dominion Day Handicap (Can-III) during his championship years.
