Helderberg Blue, a son of Jet Master, brought 2.8 million rand ($356,588 in U.S. funds) to top Book 1 of the Cape Premier yearling sale, which ended its two-day run Jan. 27 in South Africa.

The bay colt was purchased by Mike Bass Racing from Highlands Farm Stud, agent, during the second and final session of the auction, which was conducted by Cape Thoroughbred Sales.

Helderberg Blue is the second foal out of the Fusaichi Pegasus   mare Our Table Mountain, who captured the 2007 Olympic Duel Stakes in South Africa. She also finished second in the 2008 edition of that race and third in the 2006 Victress Stakes.

Our Table Mountain is a half sister to 2005 NetJets Breeders’ Cup Mile (gr. IT) winner Artie Schiller   (by El Prado).

The family of the late Graham Beck operates Highlands and Gainesway Farm in Kentucky.
