Lexington-based Horse Racing Radio Network will offer live broadcast of the $1 million Charles Town Classic April 14 from Hollywood Casino at Charles Town Races.

Charles Town officials said Jan. 23 they reached an agreement with HRRN for race and related coverage. The Charles Town Classic broadcast will be available worldwide via live streaming on the HRRN website, www.horseracingradio.net.

Additional affiliate information along with specific broadcast times and channels will be announced prior to April 14. Post time for the 13-race, six-stakes Classic program at the West Virginia track is 5 p.m. EST.

HRRN’s award-winning broadcast team will be anchored by HRRN president Mike Penna and analyst Jude Feld.

“As the exclusive radio home of the Kentucky Derby, HRRN is at its most visible in the lead-up to the first Saturday in May, which coincides very well with the timing of our race,” said Erich Zimny, director of racing operations at Charles Town.

“Charles Town has done a tremendous job of consistently attracting top quality fields for the Classic,” Penna said. “The grade 2 status is well-deserved. We are thrilled to include this event as part of our 2012 schedule and showcase this outstanding night of racing to fans around the globe.”
