Grade I winner Eskendereya   sired his first reported foal on Jan. 20 when a filly was born at Lynn Alexander's Alastar in Nicholasville, Ky.

Bred by Alastar Thoroughbred Company, the dark bay or brown filly is out of the young Unbridled's Song   mare Trendy Lady, who was a graded stakes-placed and multiple stakes-placed performer on the track.

Ramona Good, farm manager at Alastar, said of the foal: “She is a tall, long-legged and scopey filly. Intelligent.”

Alastar purchased Trendy Lady in foal to Eskendereya at last year's Keeneland November Sale for $150,000 from the consignment of Taylor Made Sales Agency.

Eskendereya was the highest rated 3-year-old in the world on dirt in 2010 by the World Thoroughbred Rankings. The grand-looking chestnut son of Giant's Causeway   was a dominant 9 1/2-length winner of the Wood Memorial (gr. I) and 8 1/2-length winner of the Fountain of Youth Stakes (gr. II).

Eskendereya broke his maiden in the Pilgrim Stakes at Belmont at 2. He retired undefeated on dirt with career earnings of $725,700.

The 5-year-old Eskendereya bred 137 mares in his first season at stud in 2011. Out of the Seattle Slew mare Aldebaran Light, he is owned by Stonestreet Thoroughbred Holdings and stands at Taylor Made Stallions in Nicholasville as a Stonestreet/Taylor Made Venture.

Eskendereya will stand in 2012 for a fee of $22,500 payable Nov. 1, or $25,000 stands and nurses.
