First Foal by Blame Delivered in Pennsylvania

The first foal by Blame  , 2010 older male champion and Breeders' Cup Classic (gr. I) winner, was born Jan. 13 at Bettina Jenney's Derry Meeting Farm in Cochranville, Pa.

The colt is out of the stakes-winning Irish-bred mare Promptly, by Lead On Time. The mare has already produced grade III stakes winner Fanstastic View and grade II-placed Weald Park. The colt is owned by George Strawbridge and James Wigan.

Blame stands at Claiborne Farm near Paris, Ky. The son of Arch  —Liable, by Seeking the Gold, retired from racing with nine wins out of 13 starts and earnings of $4,368,214. Besides the BC Classic, he won the grade I Whitney and Stephen Foster handicaps along with three other graded stakes. He stands for $35,000.
