Eight-year-old gelding Dubious Miss has been close to winning graded stakes numerous times on Fair Grounds Race Course & Slots’ turf course, and he will be given another shot Jan. 21 when taking on seven in the $100,000 Col. E. R. Bradley Handicap (gr. IIIT).

The 1 1/16-mile Bradley is one of two graded stakes on the Fair Grounds program and is scheduled for a 2:58 p.m. CST post.
A son of E Dubai, Dubious Miss was runner-up by 1 1/4 lengths in the Bradley a year ago and was third by a head in the Fair Grounds Handicap (gr. IIIT) one start after that. Back in 2010, he was second in that same race. The David Holloway homebred does have one win over the local turf course to his credit, that coming in his last start, a $35,000 claimer on Dec. 16 when he won by a length in the final start of his seven-race 2011 campaign.
Paul McGee trains Dubious Miss, who will be ridden by Corey Lanerie.
Team Block’s homebred Suntracer and Andrews T and S Racing’s Mr. Vegas also enter off victories in their most recent starts. Suntracer, trained by Neil Pessin, won the Woodchopper Stakes at Fair Grounds Nov. 25, his second win over the course. The 4-year-old Kitten's Joy   colt was graded stakes-placed twice last year.
Mr. Vegas collected a non-winners of three allowance victory Dec. 31 at Fair Grounds going one mile for his second straight triumph over the course. Richard Scherer trains the 5-year-old son of Freud  , who has hit the board in 11 of 20 lifetime starts.
Other contenders in the tightly-matched field include 8-year-old Strike Impact, who seeks his first stakes victory in his 61st start; Lonesome Street, the runner-up in the Unbridled Stakes at Louisiana Downs last September; and Glenwood Canyon, who makes his turf debut after winning six times on dirt in his 26-start career.
