Exhi, a grade II winner at Keeneland and a multiple stakes winner at Woodbine, will enter stud as a 5-year-old this year at John and Doris Carey’s T.C. Westmeath Stud Farm near Shelburne, Ontario, Canada. His fee is $3,500 (Canadian funds).
Exhi defeated Drosselmeyer when breaking his maiden by four lengths at 2 at Belmont Park. At Keeneland, Exhi won the Coolmore Lexington Stakes (gr. II) at 3 and the Ben Ali Stakes at 4.
Exhi, by Maria's Mon, captured consecutive stakes in Canada. In 2010, he won the Marine Stakes by 4 1/2 lengths and the Victoria Park Stakes by eight lengths.
Trained by Todd Pletcher for breeder/owner Wertheimer et Frere, Exhi was retired with a record of 6-4-2 from 16 starts and earnings of $807,917.
Exhi is out of the stakes-winning Polish Numbers mare Soldera, whose second dam is Canadian Horse of the Year Fanfreluche, dam of Canadian champions L'Enjoleur, La Voyageuse, and Medaille d'Or.
