Same Apprentice Jockeys are Eclipse Finalists

The National Thoroughbred Racing Association, Daily Racing Form, and the National Turf Writers and Broadcasters announced Jan. 11 that the three finalists in the Eclipse Awards category of Apprentice Jockey are Ryan Curatolo, Kyle Frey, and Rosario Montanez.

Curatolo, Frey, and Montanez were first announced as the finalists in the category on Jan. 5. However, an error relating to the data in the Apprentice Jockey category provided to the three voting organizations for the initial balloting, which closed on Jan. 3, caused the Steering Committee comprised of NTRA, NTWAB and DRF, to call for a re-vote, which was concluded Jan. 11.

Winners for all 17 equine and human categories, including Apprentice Jockey, will be announced on Jan. 16 at the Beverly Wilshire in Beverly Hills, Calif.
