As a result of the success of its Dec. 26 race card, Gulfstream Park Racing & Casino has received permission from regulators to change its schedule and have live racing Monday, Jan. 2. As a result of the change, there will be no live racing Wednesday, Jan. 4 at the South Florida track.
“We requested the change due to the incredible response we had from our fans for racing on Monday, Dec. 26,” Gulfstream president and general manager Timothy Ritvo said in a release. “With Jan. 2 being a holiday for many people, and with both Santa Anita and Aqueduct racing, we thought it was the right decision.”
First race post Monday will be 12:35 p.m. Gulfstream will be open for simulcasting Jan. 4.
