Roy and Gretchen Jackson’s Lentenor  , a 4-year-old full brother to 2006 Kentucky Derby Presented by Yum! Brands (gr. I) winner Barbaro, is scheduled to make his Tampa Bay Downs debut Dec. 23 in the seventh race, an allowance/optional claiming event at 1 1/16 miles on the turf for older runners. His most recent victory came in a mile and 70-yard turf race at Parx Racing July 31. As a 3-year-old in 2010, Lentenor finished fourth in Gulfstream Park’s Florida Derby (gr. I).

Lentenor is a homebred and run’s under the Jackson’s Lael Stables name. Leigh Delacour trains Lentenor, who will be ridden by Luis Garcia.

Lentenor is not eligible to be claimed. Among his challengers are multiple stakes winner Riversrunrylee and Beckham Bend, who ran second in a Gulfstream stakes in April.

Barbaro, who won the hearts of the racing community with his dominating Kentucky Derby triumph and courageous struggle to live after suffering a devastating injury in the Preakness Stakes (gr. I), was foaled four years before Lentenor.

Another full brother to Barbaro and Lentenor, 5-year-old Nicanor  , has won four times in 16 starts.
