Jockeys riding at the Quarter Horse meet at Hialeah Park are now receiving a higher base mount fee. The new mount fee schedule, which took effect Dec. 10, calls for a minimum mount fee of $65 ranging up to $105, depending on the purse of the race. Previously mount fees at Hialeah were scaled from $45-$105.

"I would really like to thank Duayne Didericksen, who is the horsemen’s representative for Florida Quarter Horse Association, all of the horsemen at Hialeah, as well as Guild regional managers, John Beech and Herbie Rivera, for their efforts in putting this agreement together,” said Terry Meyocks, national manager for the Jockeys’ Guild.
