Recap, a full brother to grade I winners Courageous Cat and After Market , has been retired from racing and will stand in 2012 at Ballena Vista Farm near Ramona, Calif. Owned by Martin and Pam Wygod, the 4-year-old son of Storm Cat out of the grade I-winning Rahy mare Tranquility Lake will stand complimentary to approved mares.
Recap, who also is a full brother to Dubai group winner Jalil, is bred similarly to leading sire Giant's Causeway . Both are by Storm Cat out of graded stakes-winning Rahy mares. Tranquility Lake is a half sister to successful California sire Benchmark, who stands at Ballena Vista.
Owners who breed to Recap will take note of the ‘Incentive Rewards’ being offered of $150,000 for foals conceived in 2012 and racing in 2015: $100,000 to the registered breeder of the first grade I stakes winner and $50,000 to the registered breeder of the first stakes winner (minimum purse of $55,000).
