The third and final phase of the dispersal of horses owned by the late Carl Lizza’s Flying Zee Stable will be held Jan. 21, 2012, at Lizza’s Highcliff Farm near Delanson, N.Y. Sixty-five to 70 head are scheduled to be offered during the sale, which will be handled by auctioneer Seth Gregory and start at noon (EST).
Horses in the dispersal’s final phase include mares by such sires as War Chant , Lion Heart, Ghostzapper , Point Given , Wild Again, and Elusive Quality . Weanlings by Congaree , Freud , First Samurai, Nobiz Like Showbiz, and other stallions will be available and racehorses also will be sold.
The first two phases of the dispersal took place during the Fasig-Tipton Kentucky fall yearling and Fasig-Tipton Midlantic December mixed sales in 2011. Lizza, a leading New York owner and breeder, died in July 2011.
