Five-year-old Shared Account (Pleasantly Perfect —Silk n’ Sapphire, by Smart Strike ) also won the Lake Placid Stakes (gr. IIT) and the All Along Stakes (gr. IIIT) during her career and placed in three grade I events. She exited racing with 10 top-two finishes from 18 starts and earnings of $1,649,427 for Kevin Plank’s Sagamore Farm.
Champion 3-year-old male of 2006, Bernardini (A.P. Indy—Cara Rafaela, by Quiet American ) is the runaway leader on the 2011 second-crop sire list and is the sire of 10 stakes winners. They include this year’s Travers Stakes (gr. I) winner Stay Thirsty , Indiana Derby (gr. II) victor Wilburn , and Pennsylvania Derby (gr. II) winner To Honor and Serve . Bernardini’s other stakes winners include Italian group I winner Biondetti and two English group winners.
Bernardini stands at Sheikh Mohammed’s Darley near Lexington. His 2012 fee is $150,000.
