Southern Success to Indiana Stallion Station

Southern Success  , a stakes winner at 2 in his just second start, has been relocated for the 2012 breeding season to Indiana Stallion Station near Anderson, Ind., from Dana Point Farm in Pennsylvania. Eight-year-old Southern Success, whose oldest runners are 3-year-olds, will stand for $1,000 stands and nurses.

Southern Success won by 7 1/2 lengths at Delaware Park at first asking. Less than two weeks later at Delaware, he won the Dover Stakes by 4 1/4 lengths.

An 8-year-old son of Dixieland Band, Southern Success is bred similarly to successful sire Dixie Union, both being by Dixieland Band out of Seattle Slew granddaughters.

Southern Success is out of the winning A.P. Indy mare My Success, a half sister to grade I winner Affirmed Success.
