Brad Kimbrell, who has served as executive vice president of InCompass Solutions Inc. since March 2009, has been named president of the company, it was announced Dec. 20 by James Gagliano, president and chief operating officer of The Jockey Club.

“Over the course of the past year, and in the aftermath of the retirement of former InCompass president David Haydon, Brad has clearly demonstrated his leadership capabilities as well as his knowledge of the Thoroughbred industry and his business acumen,” Gagliano said in a release. “He is the right person to lead the InCompass team into the future as it continues to serve the industry.”

Kimbrell, a native of Shreveport, La., joined McKinnie Systems in 1982 and moved to Lexington in 1994 when The Jockey Club acquired a majority interest in the racetrack software company. In 2001, as part of The Jockey Club’s corporate restructuring, McKinnie was renamed InCompass.

Gagliano also announced that Chris Dobbins has been named business development manager for InCompass. Dobbins was a wagering analyst for the Thoroughbred Racing Protective Bureau for the past five years. He has also served as a simulcast manager and mutuels manager at Sam Houston Race Park and as the director of racing and simulcasting at Will Rogers Downs.

In the new assignment, Dobbins will spearhead an expansion of the company’s consulting services and oversee the rollout of a scheduling tool and condition book matrix, which are being developed as a result of recommendations from the study conducted by McKinsey & Company this past summer.

InCompass is a technology solutions company formed in 2001 to centralize the software applications and systems that serve North American racetracks and simulcast outlets and help these facilities achieve operational efficiencies. The InCompass Race Track Operations system is installed at virtually every racetrack in North America. InCompass is also the industry’s largest provider of simulcast program pages.
