Sean Greely, racing secretary at Golden Gate Fields, has been laid off from his position along with several other employees in an economic-related cutback, according to Daily Racing Form.
Joe Morris, the track’s general manager, told DRF the decision was “a payroll cut” and said that Greely’s assistant and stakes coordinator David Jerkens would assume the racing secretary title.
Greely had held his position at Golden Gate Fields since October 2004.
Jerkens is the grandson of Hall of Fame trainer Allen Jerkens. His father, Steven, and uncle, James, are also trainers.
